Join us for an astronomical adventure in the heart of the moor. Jupiter will be well placed for observation having fairly recently reached opposition. In addition, there will be host of other astronomical wonders to enjoy, this promises to be a memorable night. In clear weather, we will walk together up to Hound Tor where Dartmoor’s Daughter will share its geology, history and associated legends, and Dartmoor Skies will guide you through the visible constellations, the vast number of star clusters, nebula and galaxies, as well as set up telescopes so you can explore the night sky at your leisure.
If the weather isn’t favourable, we will instead meet in the private dining room of ‘The Kestor Inn’ in Water near Manaton where there will be talks with slides.
